This machine is perfect for home use. Setting-up the printer is very straight forward; with the aid of a setup CD you’ll have the device working in 10 minutes.

The real selling point of the X6650 is its built-in 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity. Wireless printing is ideal in any home as it allows multiple users to access the printer from multiple locations. Lexmark claim the X6650 will print up to 25 ppm in black at a print resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi, we found it to be a bit slower than that at about 14 ppm in black. Considering its versatility, this isn’t a train smash.

The X6650 boasts 1-touch copying, full fax capabilities and a 48-bit flatbed scanner. It also functions as a photo printer allowing you to print pictures directly from SD cards, USB devices or PictBridge compatible cameras.

With neat lines and a silver-black two tone appearance the X6650 is also a handsome machine. Considering that it has a price of R1469 (incl VAT) it is an excellent low-volume, do-it-all printer. Our only worry involves the colour cartridge which is a 3-in-1 combo, which might see you having to replace it regularly as the machine does have a lower than average print yield. Get it from Computer Corporation on 08616-08616.

PROS
Wi-Fi connectivity is an excellent feature for home use.
CONS
The colour cartridges are a 3-in-1 combo which might mean high turn-over.
