In the middle of January this year, Nike unveiled the latest iteration of their Hypervenom football boot - the Phantom 3. Now it has landed in South Africa and carries with it a rather hefty recommended price tag of R3 899. We've received a pair for review and will soon be taking them to the pitch. Before that though, we snapped a few pictures of the Phantom 3, highlighting some of the technical elements Nike has integrated into the boot.

Scroll down further to see the Hypervenom Phantom 3 in finer detail.

The entire upper is constructed from Flyknit, which makes it fairly lightweight at 196 g.

For improved control in the wet, the upper has an All Conditions Control (ACC) coating.

Like many of Nike's modern football boots, the Phantom 3 includes a sock-like dynamic fit collar.

Nike says the boot's Hyper Reactive plate improves traction and the ability to change direction.

This is the carry bag that accompanies the Phantom 3 when purchased.
