A new teaser image for upcoming Red Dead Redemption game surfaces
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 18 October 2016 | Categories: newsOver the weekend, Rockstar Games pleased many a Red Dead Redemption fan by releasing an image that hinted at a new title being on the way. The developer has since followed that up with a new image, showing seven figures in silhouette with a bright red background.

Unfortunately, the company has still not detailed anything about the image and has repelled the advances from other websites for comment. As such, there's plenty of theorising at this stage.
Here's ours - the new Red Dead game will be a prequel. We think this is the case, as Redemption didn't leave much room for the main protagonist John Marston to make a return in a follow up title, specifically because he was shot dead. His son Jack, who avenged his death in-game, did not strike us as the outlaw type, so he probably won't be the focus this time round.
The fact that there are seven figures in silhouette also leads us to believe a gang of sorts has been cobbled together for this new game. Fans of the franchise will know that John Marston use to run in a gang, so this title may explore that in more detail.
Whether or not we're right remains to be seen, but Rockstar will definitely have more information forthcoming.
