When it comes to covetable and stylish notebooks, the Asus ZenBook 3 is certainly up there. After Asus announced it at Computex 2016 earlier in the year, notebook fiends have been wondering when it would reach local shores. Asus South Africa now confirms that the ZenBook 3 will arrive in early 2017, and will be available at Dion Wired, Incredible Connection and a handful of online retailers. 

In terms of design, the ZenBook 3 features a lightweight 910 aluminium unibody, along with the familiar brushed metal finish ASUS uses for many of its premium devices, as well as a new gold edging around the frame of the notebook's top screen portion. 

The display measures 12.5" diagonally and serves up Full HD (1920x1080) resolution via its LED-backlit system. Looking a bit deeper, Asus will make the ZenBook 3 available in SA with two distinct onboard chipsets. This starts with an Intel 7th Gen Core i5 processor, with the higher specced version being Core i7 in nature. Added to this is 16 GB LPDDR3 RAM and a 1 TB SSD. 

Other notable features include a quad speaker arrangement, designed by Harmon Kardon, as well as a USB Type-C port which handles both display output and power connections. Speaking of which, the ZenBook 3 has a six-cell 40W lithium ion battery to call upon.    

Asus notes that pricing for the ZenBook may change when it lands locally next year, but for now it is listed to start at R24 999 and top out at R34 999 depending on the model you opt for.
