Acer debuts its slimmest All-In-One PC to date with Aspire S24
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 31 August 2017 | Categories: newsAcer was the first major manufacturer to showcase its wares for IFA 2017 in Berlin. The Taiwanese company had quite a few new devices on show, both on the business and gaming computing side. One of the standout offerings is the Aspire S24, which carries the unique distinction of being the company's thinnest All-In-One (AIO) desktop PC to date.
More specifically, the 23.8" Full HD IPS touting product measures an impressive 5.97 mm thin, and should appeal to users that enjoy svelte technology. Unfortunately, at this stage, Acer Africa has stated that the Aspire S24 is not destined for South African shores.
While that is disappointing news, given how sleek the AIO looks, we can still run through some of the specifications South Africans will be missing out on. To that end, it will be running Windows 10 (as many Acer products do), and features full touch functionality as well as 178-degree viewing angles.
Delving deeper, the all-new Intel 8th Gen core processors are on offer, with optional Intel Optane memory available as well. Added to this is an SSD up to 256 GB, along with a substantial 2 TB HDD for storage. Other features include a 2.1 channel subwoofer, which is coupled with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony.
It's a pity the Aspire S24 is not hitting our shores in any official capacity, especially how tempting it looks in the video below.
