Adidas unveils Battle Pack Fifa World Cup boot collectionBy Robin-Leigh Chetty 14 May 2014 | Categories: news
There's only one month to go until the 2014 Fifa World Cup kicks off in Brazil, starting 12 June. The World Cup is not only important for the nations competing and droves of people who watch it, it's equally important for sportswear manufacturers, chief among them being Adidas. In order to better highlight its role in this year's World Cup, the German sporting giant has released its new "Battle Pack" collection of football boots, exhibited on the feet of some of the world's best players.
The Adidas "Battle Pack" features a new boot from each of the five Adidas boot ranges - the adizero f50, predator, nitrocharge, 11pro and adizero f50 Messi - each with its own "disruptive" black and white pattern to stand out on the pitch. The "Battle Pack" range will be worn on-field by Leo Messi, Oscar, Dani Alves and Luis Suarez.
The black and white colourway is said to be a visual representation of the Adidas “all in or nothing” 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil campaign, with each boot exactly 50% white and 50% black. The only colour featuring on the boots is the "fiery gold" colours of Adidas's iconic three stripes, designed to represent the World Cup trophy. The adizero f50 Messi is the only exception with an added blue and white colourway, inspired by the national colours of Messi’s native Argentina.
All of the boots will be available to purchase in South Africa, with the only exception being the 11pro, from retailers like Studio 88, Cross Trainer, Edgars, Totalsports, Tekkie Town, Sportsman’s Warehouse and Adidas Concept stores from 26 May.
