To think it's already been 16 years since Samurai Jack first graced our screens on Cartoon Network. Now the time travelling Samurai is set for a return on Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's edgier big brother, and a new trailer for season five has landed.

In it, we find out that it has been 50 years since the events of season four, and Jack has not aged a day since he first got teleported to the future by Aku (the series' protagonist). Stuck to roam the land with no hope of returning home, Jack has become dejected, and now sports a beard. Jack's days of fighting are not done, however, as a new lackie of Aku has arrived to try and kill our hero.

Liked for as much as the story, as the brilliant animation style from creator Genndy Tartakovsky (who also created Dexter’s Laboratory and Star Wars: Clone Wars), Samurai Jack has an almost cult-like following.

The fifth season is set to air on March 11 Stateside, but whether Jack will find a resolution this time round, remains to be seen. Watch the trailer below to see Jack in action once again.
