"Every villain is the hero of his own story," growls Batman in the opening few scenes of the latest Injustice 2 trailer. Titled Shattered Alliances, it pits the Dark Knight against the Man of Steel, with the rest of the Justice League seemingly being forced to pick sides.

At the core of the DC icons’ feud is how to address the criminal elements plaguing the world, with Superman opting for a more aggressive totalitarian approach. Batman, however, airs of the side of caution, unwilling to break his moral code. As such, the likes of Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Cyborg have to pick which one of these superheroes they will back.

This latest trailer is only Part 1 though, so there should be another piece of the puzzle on the horizon soon. Making its cross-platform debut on 16 May, Injustice 2 is shaping up nicely. Hit play on the trailer below and enjoy.
