We already know that Google will be hosting its annual I/O conference in May this year, but now it's time for Apple to announce when their WWDC 2018 will be taking place. Perhaps hoping to overshadow their competitor, the company will be hosting WWDC from 4 to 8 June in San Jose, California.

Tickets for the event are set to go on sale on 22 March, with Apple aiming to get as many developers as possible attending. As for what they company will be showcasing, no official information has been hinted at, but we can certainly speculate at this early stage.

As in previous years, Apple will more than likely offer a look at iOS 12, and the different elements of the mobile operating system that the company wants developers to make the most of. A new macOS is also a possibility, with Apple's more recent offerings being more focused on refinement than innovation. As such, debuting a notebook/desktop offering that pushes the boundaries a bit would not go amiss.

On the other platform fronts, it should be interesting to see how Apple's plans for watchOS and tvOS are panning out, with both taking a backseat of late due to the fervour that surrounded the iPhone X's reveal last year.
