For a number of years now, Apple has been a part of the Product (Red) initiative, which takes a percentage of sales from items baring the colour and donating it to HIV/AIDS research and prevention measures. The iPhone lineup in particular has featured, and according to a memo discovered by MacRumors, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will soon be added to the list of offerings.

Listings for the devices are expected as soon as this week, but a shipping date has not been mentioned as of yet. It is, however, likely that US carriers like Virgin Mobile will be taking pre-orders for the phones.

A price for the Product (Red) versions of the smartphones is also missing, but given Apple's history when it comes to such offerings, they could see a slight bump in price.

What we're a little more interested in though, is whether they'll be doing the same thing with the iPhone X, which could certainly benefit from having a limited edition colour option available. At this stage, no indication of such a variant is known.
