By now, the fact that Apple chooses to skip events like Mobile World Congress and IFA should be well know. Instead, the Cupertino-based company enjoys hosting its own Spring and Autumn showcases. As such, September marks the time that Apple debuts a slew of new products, and in recent years, new iPhones. Last year was the same, and it turns out that this year will be no different, as Apple as officially dated its Autumn event for 9 September.

While many are guessing what devices Apple will be unveiling, a new iPhone is most certainly on the cards, especially if the invite is anything to go by. It features a colourful version of the Apple logo, and the words, "Hey Siri, give us a hint." As such, it's a pretty safe bet that we'll be seeing a follow up to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Along with new iPhones, the rumour mill has been churning out news that the much-hyped iPad Pro could finally be unveiled, with the device expected earlier in the year. With sales in the tablet market in general having slowed down of late, a new stylus sporting, workplace-specific iPad could certainly reinvigorate things.

We've also heard murmurings that an updated version of Apple TV could be arriving on 9 September, which would make sense giving Apple's HBO streaming service announcement made earlier in the year. A new Apple TV could also prove a great way to test out the living room functionality of OS X El Capitan and indeed iOS 9.

Although Apple's dominance as a brand goes unquestioned at this stage, it wouldn't hurt to see a few head-turners debut on 9 September. With the event happening from 19:00 PM locally, be sure to follow @TechSmartMag on Twitter, as we'll be live tweeting all the details.
