A couple weeks ago, rumours were circulating about Apple's impending iPhone 8 release, with the date reportedly being pushed back a month or two. Now, a research report from Deutsche Bank suggests the new iPhone will only be unveiled in 2018. According to Business Insider, Deutsche Bank has cited shortages of key components from several supply chains.

"We believe this report further underscores the uncertainty around the timing of Apple's next- generation iPhone model," noted one of Deutsche Bank's analysts. As such, an anniversary iPhone celebrating the tenth year since the iPhone’s introduction may be out of the question, with Apple instead only debuting the iPhone 7s.

Whether or not the rumours and reports of the iPhone 8 delay turn out to be true remains to be seen. If true, it could lead to a further decline in iPhone sales, as consumers hold off purchasing a new device until something more impressive arrives.
