Apple says wireless Beat X earphones arriving on 10 February
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 8 February 2017 | Categories: newsAnother pair of wireless earphones are on the horizon. Previously delayed, the Beats X earphones are on their way to retailers come 10 February. Apple announced the news, with the Beats X set to retail for $149.95 (R2 027) in the United States, and available in either black, white, grey and blue colours at this stage.
Despite being owned by Apple, the Beats earphones will be compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Added to this, the Beats X features Apple's W1 Bluetooth chip which is said to allow for quicker and easier pairing. That is the same chip found on the far pricier Apple Airpods.
As far as battery life goes, Apple says the Beats X can yield up to eight hours from a full charge, and can deliver up to two hours of listening from five minutes worth of fast-charging. The only thing really missing from these earphones is a lack of waterproofness/sweatproofness. Other than that, it could be a good all-round earphone option for Beats fans.
When they'll land in SA? No word just yet.
