With the 3 March release date of the Nintendo Switch fast approaching, each day reveals more information about the Japanese company's latest foray into the world of console gaming. One such tidbit has emerged following an interview between Nintendo CEO, Tatsumi Kimishima and Time. The hybrid console will not feature a native web browser, at launch anyways, according to Kimishima.

The reason for the lack of browser is the desire to make the Switch a dedicated gaming platform, says the Nintendo CEO. Also absent at launch will be video streaming apps like Netflix, with the company adopting a similar rhetoric in explaining why. Whether such a move, or lack thereof, will hurt the Switch in the long run remains to be seen.

Since it debuted in New York at the beginning of the year, the Nintendo Switch has garnered mixed reactions. For us through, it remains a viable option, especially if you're an avid console and handheld gamer.
