By Robin-Leigh Chetty 1 September 2017 | Categories: newsIFA 2017 may be underway, but the next big event will be an Apple press conference Stateside. According to The Verge, the Cupertino-based company has sent out invites for an event on 12 September, with the iPhone 8 expected in attendance. The event is scheduled to be held at the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple's Campus at 19:00 (SAST).
For now, it remains unclear if we will indeed see a new iPhone get revealed, with reports suggesting the company's manufacture of the device has been pushed back due to the sourcing of new parts. These include an OLED display, which is believed to be edge-to-edge, as well as a 3D scanning front facing camera for facial recognition.
Along with the rumoured iPhone 8, and a larger model, Apple is anticipated to unveil a 10th anniversary edition of the iPhone. While much of this is still conjecture, it remains unclear if we will indeed see a new iPhone get revealed on 12 September.
