As some of us adjust to having regular work weeks once again, a number of noteworthy trailers might have possibly slipped past your gaze. To ensure you don't miss any of the best, we've compiled a bunch below. Enjoy.

The Dark Tower

When we heard that Idris Elba (The Wire) and Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyer's Club) were attached to star in the big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, we were much intrigued. Now that the first trailer has seen the light of day, we're a little less enthused.

Nevertheless it's still worth a watch and its lacklustre appeal might just be a case of bad editing. Hopefully though, the pair of Hollywood A-listers can get the job done, especially as the series of novels has a very loyal fanbase.

Release date: 4 August 2017 (United States)
Best bit: The Gunslinger invoking his second amendment rights.

IT (MTV First Look)

IT is shaping up very nicely, with the first full trailer breaking the record for the most views in a single day on YouTube. Now MTV is showcasing more, with Pennywise’s single red balloon being replaced by a bunch.

We also get to see more of the Loser's Club, a group of misfit kids that band together after several other children go missing in the town of Derry, Maine. How they'll fare against the dreaded Pennywise, however, remains to be seen.

Release date: 7 September 2017 (United States)
Best bit: Poo jokes at 0:45.

Transformers 5 (Secret Past)

It looks like producers on Transformers 5: The Last Knight are not content with the amount of footage they've released to date, issuing a few TV spots too, the latest of which offers a couple further hints at the storyline.

With a dire threat set to plague humanity once again, it appears as if the 'real' reason why the Transformers continue to make their way to Earth will be revealed. As such, the All Spark from the first Transformers, and desire to mine materials in Age of Extinction were simply ruses, and The Last Knight will in fact set the record straight. Let's hope so.

Release date: 23 June 2017 (United States)
Best bit: Badly photoshopped samurai and Transformers at 0:18.

Alien: Covenant (In Utero 360-degree video)

Got a Virtual Reality (VR) headset? Then this latest video for Alien: Covenant is for you. Much like The Last Knight, the marketing department for Alien: Covenant has gone all out with their promotional material, so much so that we're starting to avoid them in order to leave some mystery to the film, starting next week.

This 360-degree video is quite interesting though, and as the title suggests, offers viewers a glimpse into the 'birthing' process of a baby xenomorph. As you can expect from an Alien film, things get rather bloody and violent halfway through, so avoid this experience if you're squeamish.

Release date: 19 May 2017

Best bit: Greeting the world at 1:20.

Manifesto

Released in selected regions already, Manifesto sees multiple Oscar winner Cate Blanchett put her acting chops to the test. The premise of the film is both weird and amazing, as Blanchett plays multiple roles, all of which involve delivering a manifesto in monologue form. It sounds like quite the feat, and worthy of watch just to see how it was accomplished.

With Leonardo Dicaprio set to pull off a similar feat by playing 24 different characters, and more recently James McAvoy doing a the same thing for Split, it should be interesting to see how Blanchett's approach fares. If it comes to SA remains to be seen.

Release date: TBC
Best bit: Blanchett's accents throughout.

Game Over, Man! (Teaser)

Apart from being a Netflix production, we know very little about Game Over, Man!, but since it stars the trio from Workaholics, we're probably gonna watch it. If the teaser is anything to go by, it will feature a bunch of lovable idiots doing equally stupid and dangerous things.

To see why smoking will kill you, hit play on the teaser below.

Release date: TBC
Best bit: Why you always check if the safety is on at 0:13.
