Beware the taxman in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
By Ryan Noik 16 October 2015 | Categories: newsIn The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you can escape any number of monsters and cheat death as many times as you please, but the one creature you can’t evade is the taxman. Apparently, if you have been taking advantage of an exploit which lets you harvest hides and pearls for gold, then CD Projekt is not only the wiser, they are also likely sending a tax collector players’ way.
Whatsmygame.com, an exploit site, noted that is the latest Hearts of Stone DLC, players can find himself having to contend with an in-game taxman, although, it may not quite end up exactly as anticipated.
Now, we can debate the merits of sending an accountant after a genetically modified warrior who carries two swords with him at all times (one guess who will come off better in a confrontation), but that is not the real story.
Rather than taking players to task for exploiting the game, hurriedly rushing out a patch or even necessarily liberating their gold through a hefty fine, CD Projekt has instead shown its sportsmanship. If you are caught, you can simply deny it, (even if you’re guilty of the crimes he levels against you), and you are rewarded for telling at least your version of the truth. Take a look at the video below, to see the humorous approach to taxes in The Witcher’s world.
