Bill & Ted returns in new trailer for Face the Music
By Staff Writer 12 June 2020 | Categories: newsThe success of the first Bill and Ted movie back in 1989 can be seen as the advance guard for other stoner hits such as Wayne's World, Dude, Where's My Car? and perhaps even Harold & Kumar. Now our two dim-witted friends are back in the trailer for Bill & Ted Face the Music.
Bill S. Preston Esquire (Alex Winter) and Ted Theodore Logan (Keanu Reeves) might not be the sharpest tools in the shed but have made it through to middle-age and even have their own daughters to take care of. However, looking at the state of the world, they realise their music did not bring about the harmonic society that was promised. As such, it’s time to time travel, with Bill and Ted of the present meeting Bill and Ted of the future, unfortunately locked up in jail.
Our titular heroes are of course facing another problem – will their cult status of the past be enough to ensure box office success? For this they certainly would need to win over new fans, but on the strength of the new trailer we’re just not sure if Bill & Ted’s antics will cut the modern mustard. Having said that, seeing a buffed-up Bill and Ted did ensure a chuckle.
The movie is directed by Dean Parisot, responsible for the awesome Galaxy Quest, and written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the original writers of the Bill & Ted movies. Our friends are due for their return on 21 August, although this could change due to the effects of COVID-19. Hit play below and be excellent to each other!
