BlackBerry teases KEY2 smartphone with dual camera setup
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 25 May 2018 | Categories: newsBlackBerry Mobile (owned by TCL) has been a bit quite of late when it comes to new devices, with the BlackBerry Motion the only recent device (via Cellucity) to land locally, but now the company is readying for the debut of a new phone - the KEY2. The offering is the successor to the KEYone, and sports a similar touch and type setup, according to a new teaser video that BlackBerry released this week.
The KEY2 is set for a proper reveal on 7 June in New York, with little known about what BlackBerry has done to improve this device compared to its predecessor. That said the teaser video below does offer some hints with regard to what it will be featuring.
To that end, a QWERTY keyboard is present, which will likely have some sort of capacitive touch functionality. Added to this is a dual camera setup on the rear, but the number of megapixels onboard are unknown.
With a reported 850 000 BlackBerry devices sold last year, a lot of pressure will fall on the KEY2 in order to reignite interest in the brand.
