For a long time, Bugatti's Veyron and all its different models have been the long reigning kings of speed. That changed a couple of years ago, as Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche all debuted their own hypercars to mount a challenge. With the Geneva Motor Show kicking off later this week (3-13 March), Bugatti is back at it with their latest supercharged vehicle - the Chiron.  

Speaking of superchargers, Bugatti fitted four onto the Chiron's 8.0 litre engine, which is lifted from Volkswagen's W12 model. The result is a mammoth 1102 kW of power, which is 372 kW more than the original Veyron had back in 2005.

To handle that power, Bugatti has paired it with 1600 Nm of torque and a seven speed dual-clutch transmission. What does that mean in terms of 0-100? The Chiron is said to reach 100 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds, which is mightily fast. This hypercar does not stop their either, as it's capable of hitting 200 km/h from a standstill in roughly 6.2 seconds. The top speed, however, is limited to 420 km/h, but given the right race track with a long enough straight, it could probably surpass that.

While the release date for the Chiron is unknown, Bugatti is said to already have different models in the works, much like the Veyron and its Super Sport variant.
