Canon Series: Essential Equipment - Tim Moolman
By Staff Writer 6 July 2015 | Categories: sponsored content
Tim Moolman has captured amongst others, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York and the amazing Tony Hawk. We talked to him about the gear he always carries around, and a couple of cost-effective tricks he might know of.
TechSmart: What piece of gear never leaves your camera bag? Also, is there a cheap solution that you use on a regular basis?
Tim Moolman: My Camera! HaHa. Also my Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 fisheye. No matter what the job description I always take my fisheye with and learning to use it sparingly and at the right time I think sets me apart from those photographers who are scared to use it or who think it’s a one trick fish (pony). Gaffer tape always comes in handy, especially with kids and pets;-)
In my camera bag I have:
- Canon 5D Mark II
- Canon 1D Mark III
- Canon 17-40mm f4
- Canon 24mm f1.4
- Canon 15mm f2.8 Fisheye
- Canon 50mm f1.4
- Canon 85mm f1.8
- Canon 70-200mm f2.8
- Speedlights
- Pocket Wizards
- LED Light
- Gaffer Tape
- Cable Ties
In this selfie, Tim Moolman is using a PocketWizard in his hand to trigger the camera.
