Canon Series: Essential Equipment - Tim Moolman
By Staff Writer 6 July 2015 | Categories: sponsored contentTim Moolman has captured amongst others, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York and the amazing Tony Hawk. We talked to him about the gear he always carries around, and a couple of cost-effective tricks he might know of.
TechSmart: What piece of gear never leaves your camera bag? Also, is there a cheap solution that you use on a regular basis?
Tim Moolman: My Camera! HaHa. Also my Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 fisheye. No matter what the job description I always take my fisheye with and learning to use it sparingly and at the right time I think sets me apart from those photographers who are scared to use it or who think it’s a one trick fish (pony). Gaffer tape always comes in handy, especially with kids and pets;-)
In my camera bag I have:
- Canon 5D Mark II
- Canon 1D Mark III
- Canon 17-40mm f4
- Canon 24mm f1.4
- Canon 15mm f2.8 Fisheye
- Canon 50mm f1.4
- Canon 85mm f1.8
- Canon 70-200mm f2.8
- Speedlights
- Pocket Wizards
- LED Light
- Gaffer Tape
- Cable Ties
In this selfie, Tim Moolman is using a PocketWizard in his hand to trigger the camera.
