Canon Series: Heinrich van den Berg, Part 2
By Staff Writer 24 March 2016 | Categories: sponsored contentWith over 20 books to his name, one can say that Heinrich van den Berg knows a thing or two about nature and travel photography. In the second part of this Canon Series interview, we asked him about his favourite lens and photo.
TechSmart: If you had to pick Canon lens to shoot with, which one would it be and why?
Heinrich van den Berg: I have always loved my 70-200mm f2,8, which is the workhorse of all serious photographers. But my favourite lens at the moment is the EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM lens. It is so versatile that it helps you to be much more creative when photographing.
I also use the EOS 5DS R camera, which has 50 megapixels, so by using that camera on the 200-400, I don’t need a longer lens than the 560mm that the built-in converter gives me. Obviously the 600mm f4 (which I have) does have its place and it remains an incredible lens, but if I could only have one lens, then the 200-400mm would be it.
TechSmart: What is your favourite personal photo and why?
Heinrich van den Berg: I don’t really have a favourite photo since I am still waiting to take it! That is the great thing about photography - you never get the perfect image. There is always room for improvement.
