After recent travels that took him to Kenya and Botswana, we finally managed to catch up with wildlife photographer, Andrew Beck. We asked him about his experience with some hot new gear.

TechSmart: Have you recently acquired a new piece of photographic equipment, and if so, what? Do you have first impressions or particular comments you can share on it?

Andrew Beck: I am fortunate enough to have access to a range of gear through the Wild Eye rental library so have had the opportunity to use a variety of lens and camera bodies out in the field. I am super impressed with the new Canon 7D MKII. Apart from the image quality and overall performance, the ergonomics and new functionality (like the Af-Area Mode Selector and information displayed in the viewfinder) make this a really great new addition to the Canon range.
