If you've been a little jaded with Destiny 2 of late, developer Bungie is promising that their latest piece of DLC for the game will end all that. Forsaken, which lands on 4 September, will see Guardians join up with Cayde-6 as you try to capture all the breakout prisoners and Barons of The Reef.

We caught glimpses of the storyline for Forsaken during Bungie's live stream event a couple of weeks ago, but now a new trailer sheds a bit more light on the role Cayde-6 and Uldren Sov will play in the narrative.

From what we can tell, the wise cracking Cayde-6 is in pretty bad shape after a tangle with Sov and some of his goons, and it appears as if he loses his Ghost in the process. Seemingly left fatally wounded after the encounter, gamers will need to help resurrect Cayde-6, along with finding out a bit more about the secrets of the Awoken.

With Destiny 2's previous two DLCs falling short when it comes to storyline, hopefully this upcoming offering will prove more meaty.
