You might wonder why a title like The Grand Tour Game exists. Well, you can give thanks to the three amigos, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May for this. While TV shows turned into video games might be few and far between, the pulling power of The Grand Tour has provided Amazon enough of a head rush green-light the project through Amazon Game Studios.

Amazon notes that the Grand Tour Game puts you behind the wheel with Clarkson, Hamster and May, and is tied in with the latest season of the programme on Amazon Prime. The game will be released in weekly episodes during Season 3, just like the show, with each episode of the game capturing the content from that week’s episode of the show. Whatever the team is doing, you’ll be doing too, including racing the cars, checking the locations, and doing all the challenges.

Also featured are:

  • Two fan-favourite episodes from the previous two seasons
  • Four-player split-screen mode, so players can race against each other
  • Over-the-top Gadgets like High Tea, which spills tire-shredding cups and saucers, and More Horsepowers, which lets you blow past the competition.

This direct integration of series and game is certainly an interesting concept, and with Season 3 starting on 18 January, there will certainly be interested parties from other networks watching to see if Amazon Prime can pull it off. Having said that, The Grand Tour Game might be a title reserved for real fans only.

Hit play below to see if you will be buying this on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and after that check out the trailer for Season 3.
