Could the Boring Company's $600 Flamethrower be a reality?
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 26 January 2018 | Categories: newsAmong Elon Musk's many ventures is the Boring Company, which specialises in digging tunnels. They are also in the business of selling branded hats, and Musk promised in December last year that if they sold 50 000 of them, that a Boring Company would be next.
After 50k hats, we will start selling The Boring Company flamethrower

At the time it was written off as a joke, but it appears as if Musk may be keeping true to his word, as several eagle eyed Reddit users have discovered a URL on some Boring Company related threads - "https://www.boringcompany.com/flamethrower". If you visit the website, you'll be prompted to type in the password, 'flame', according to Hypebeast, which then leads to a shop page listing said flamethrower.
It is said to cost $600, with the final production version also noted to be better than the one shown on the page. It's reportedly shipping in April, leading some Redditors to believe that this is all one big hoax, culminating in an elaborate April Fool's joke.
Whether or not it is true, remains to be seen, but seeing how much trouble someone could get in with a flamethrower, we're leaning towards a ruse.
