One of the best games we played last year was Dishonored 2, picking up where the original left off and adding to developer Bethesda's long lineup of superb first-person games. While we were immensely impressed by it, not everyone has had the chance to enjoy it. That's where Bethesda comes in, serving up the first three missions of the game via a free trial starting 6 April.

Gamers will be able to play as Corvo Attano, the protagonist from the original, or newcomer Emily Kaldwin, who learns to hone her assassin skills. The free trial will be available to PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC owners via the PSN Store, Xbox Marketplace and Steam respectively. If you opt to purchase the full title following the free trial, all progress made will be saved, but there is no discount incentive to buy Dishonored 2 that we're aware of, with them all retailing for around R800 at the moment.

Hit play on the launch trailer below for a taste of why Dishonored 2 was one of our best games of 2016.
