Dongjin Koh takes over as Samsung's mobile division chief
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 1 December 2015 | Categories: newsSamsung has a new head of mobile. The South Korean manufacturer announced earlier today that co-CEO and mobile division chief, JK Shin, would be stepping down from his position, as he focuses on the company's long-term strategies. Filling Shin's shoes is Dongjin Koh, who will handle the mobile division's day to day operations, according to Reuters.
It therefore looks like business as usual for Samsung, with no real change in the company's plans for mobile anytime soon. As such, those hankering for the days of clamshell phones are out of luck.
For a bit more background on Koh's CV, he was heading up Samsung's R&D division before making the move to mobile. Samsung adds that he had an integral part in the development of the Galaxy S6 (review) and Galaxy Note 5. As such, we should expect Samsung to push the boundaries as far as internal specs for devices go.
With CES and MWC the first few events on his calendar next year, it should prove interesting to see how Koh fares.
