In recent years, one of the more divisive elements in gaming has been DLCs and the purchasing of in-game content. This came to a head late last week as EA announced the cost for some of the heroes in its upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II (17 November release date) game.

Fans were none too pleased with the pricing, and EA has acted swiftly to make adjustments, in the wake of some online ire. To that end, the developer took to the game's blog to announce some immediate price cuts. Consequently, a select number of iconic characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now cost 15 000 (in-game) credits, Chewbacca and Leia Organa will be 10 000 a piece and the new story mode addition of Iden Versio will be 5 000 credits.

Those slashes in cost amount to 75% reductions in some cases, which is a significant decrease. Credit must go to EA for acting quickly ahead of the game's official launch, especially as issues like this can often dent the impending release of a game.
