Canon has announced the launch of two new all-in-one printers, the PIXMA MG8140 and PIXMA MG6140.

These photo all-In-one printers boast Canon’s FINE print head technology with six single ink tanks, including one grey ink tank and also offer professional-quality greyscale and colour photo printing. According to Canon the two models are capable of printing a 10 x 15 cm borderless colour photo in around 20 seconds.

The PIXMA MG8140 is able to scan as well as reprint 35 mm film and slides. Both models also sport two-way paper feeding, auto duplex, Ethernet as well as Wi-Fi connectivity and Direct Disc printing, which enables users to print directly onto compatible DVD, CD and Blu-ray media.

Users who own a Canon digital SLR camera or digital still camera can also employ Canon’s Full HD Movie Print function to print stunning high-res images by selecting a single frame from a full HD movie recorded on their camera.

“The uncompromising design integrates practical features such as the auto duplex unit into the printer and a stunning, glossy mirror finish provides a sophisticated look and feel, making either model ideal for any environment,” says Abri Kriegler, product manager at Canon Consumer Imaging South Africa. “Exciting new features will appeal to advanced users who want to enjoy easy-to-use functionality and outstanding print quality.”

Canon’s PIXMA MG8140 and PIXMA MG6140 will be available in South Africa from mid to end October 2010. No pricing is available yet.
