Fàbregas to launch redesigned Puma evoPOWER 1.2
By Staff Writer 17 April 2015 | Categories: newsWhat does a Japanese dragon, Spanish midfielder Cesc Fàbregas, and Puma have in common? The latest edition in Puma’s football boot range, the evoPOWER 1.2, which received a bit of a makeover. Fàbregas is set to launch the redesigned boot at this Saturday’s important Chelsea/Manchester United game.
Puma notes the boots are inspired by the traditional Japanese dragon, with the sea pine coloured heel counter featuring a dragon skin graphic print, and some Japanese-style font above the Puma logo.
The evoPOWER 1.2’s upper material stretches in a longitudinal rather than lateral direction, which, according to Puma, allows freedom of movement while maintaining support. To enhance accuracy and ball control, even in English weather, is the GripTex print running across the full length of the upper. Furthermore, Puma believes that the AccuFoam lining provides a clean kicking surface for added precision.
After its debut this Saturday, the new boot will also be found on the feet of Olivier Giroud, Mario Balotelli and Dante from next week. When could it be on yours? 1 May is the official release date, with Puma also noting a full colour aligned collection, including training apparel and accessories, shin pads and balls, available to purchase from that day. No word yet on price though.
The final word belongs to the man with the dragons on his feet, with Fàbregas noting, "As a Spaniard I can't resist a red boot. It’s really striking and the dragon skin graphic on the heel gives it a special look. It is a real honour to be the first player to wear it, this weekend when we play Manchester United. It is an important match and Manchester will be hard to beat as every point counts so close to the end of the season."
We suppose good luck to both teams is in order.
