Fujifilm South Africa has officially launched a Rent to Own system, which allows customers to rent a Fujifilm camera, with the ability to then keep it after a set period.

Over at www.fujifilmfinance.co.za, Fujifilm clientele have the ability to rent different cameras and lenses over a 6, 12, 18 and 24-month period. Customers have three options, starting with simply returning the equipment after the selected period, or continuing to rent the products after the specified time, but at a reduced rate. We suspect many will settle for the third option – to pay one extra instalment, but then own the equipment outright after the agreed upon period has concluded.

Those wanting to partake need to fill in details and provide documentation online, including ID document, proof of address, payslip and bank statement. The application will have to approved before the go-ahead from Fujifilm. The website calculates the exact rental price per month, with the ability to also add a deposit to bring down costs per month.

Five camera stores are partaking in the deal, including AtPhoto in Pretoria, Kameraz in Joburg, Orms in Cape Town, Katz in P.E. and Photoquip in East London.

Fujifilm recently announced its latest flagship, the X-T2, which X-Photographer Peter Delaney discusses in an interview with us here. The camera is not on the list yet, but we suspect it will be included once it lands on local shores in September.
