In a couple of weeks from now, Samsung will have debuted its latest flagship phone to the world at Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are expected to appear at the company's event on 25 February, and as we get closer to that date, a few more details about the devices have surfaced.

We already know what the phones will look, with leaked images revealed a few weeks ago, and for the most part, they resemble their predecessor a great deal. As for some of the other aspects of the devices, a recent report from Android Authority notes that the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will sport stereo speakers, placed at the top and bottom of the phones.

Stereo audio is nothing new on a flagship phone, but its inclusion on those two devices probably means that Samsung will talk up the entertainment value of the S9 and S9 Plus, which coupled with their Infinity Displays could be great for viewing videos and playing games.

Another feature that the pair of Galaxy S flagship offerings will reportedly sport is 3D emoji, which is said to work in a very similar way to Apple's animoji that debuted on the iPhone X last year. To that end, the S9 and S9 Plus' front facing sensor will make use of facial tracking to allow the 3D emoji to mimic the users movements and expressions.

The last bit of information, via Korean website ETNews, is the price of the Galaxy S9. According to their sources, the forthcoming flagship could cost anywhere between $853 and $923. As The Verge points out it's a fair bit more than the $720 starting price of the Galaxy S8, which may mean the Galaxy S9's local price could be in the region of R17k to R18k.

All the official details, however, will be revealed on 25 February at 19:00 (SAST). Be sure to follow @TechSmartMag, as we'll be live tweeting all the information as it happens.
