Garmin brings its Forerunner 25 GPS watch to South Africa
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 1 December 2015 | Categories: newsGarmin announced the debut of its Forerunner 25 GPS running watch a few months ago, and now it has made its way to South Africa. Garmin has talked up the device's compact design, with connected features being a particular standout for the company as well.
This running watch tracks essential data including distance, pace, heart rate and calories. In between workouts the Forerunner 25 also has activity tracking tools, counting steps and calories and providing reminders for users when they have been inactive for too long. When paired with a compatible smartphone (via bluetooth) users can automatically upload data to Garmin Connect and stay connected with alerts for incoming calls, texts and calendar reminders.
Added to this, its design boasts a 32% larger active display area in a thinner watch than its predecessor the Forerunner 15. Furthermore, it's water resistant up to 50 meters and delivers a claimed eight hours of battery life in training mode or eight weeks in the standard watch/activity tracking mode.
The Forerunner 25 bundled with a heart rate monitor will be available in black/red or black/blue in a large face (0.91"), and black/purple or white/pink in a small face (0.73") will have a recommended retail price of R 3 100.
