If hard-core female warriors a la Ellen Ripley take pride of place amongst your collectibles, then this is another must-have. The 21” figurine looks sumptuously detailed and shows Machiko, a female Predator, standing triumphant on the head of an Alien, arguably one of the most fearsome denizens that has slithered onto the collective conscious. Be warned though, the She-Predator is not for the faint of heart, and carries a pricetag that separates the mere enthusiast from the serious collector - $440 (R4 400).
Hasbro gives Iron-Man carbo loaded treatment
It appears as if Hasbro has recast the role of Iron-Man, kicking Robert Downey Jr to the curb in favour of someone a little rounder and more adaptable. We are of course talking about Mr Potato Head, christened Tony Starch, while sporting the Mark VI suit from Iron-Man 2. Tony Starch is available for purchase off Amazon for $65 (R670).
Lego to design 216 cm long Avengers Helicarrier model?
Want to bring your favourite piece of pop-culture to life through Lego? There may just be hope for you yet. Lego Ideas, is the company's community supported forum for ambitious designers to submit their own creations, with one such example of this the Helicarrier featured in Marvel's Avengers and Captain America films. The proposed manufacture of this model will require an astonishing 22 694 Lego pieces, measuring 2.1 m long and 1.1 m wide.
At this stage, the Avengers Helicarrier is in the review stage of Lego Ideas' design process, currently sitting at roughly 800 supporters. In order to go into production, it will need at least 10 000 supporters in total and has a little under one year (358 days) to reach that goal. Transformers 4 figurines lead the charge for Extinction
A forthcoming Transformers 4 movie, accompanied by the requisite app, can only mean one thing – new figurines. The 12” Titan Heroes range will include the the likenesses of Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Autobot Drift, and Lockdown, and the non-converting figures will sport five points of articulation. Expect to pay around $20 (R200) to satiate your Transformers fandom.
Hawkman figurine set to fly in later this year
It simply wouldn’t feel right for DC Comics not to make at least a couple of interesting announcements a month; and the latest is the reveal of the impending Hawkman figurine, complete with well detailed wings, and garbed somewhat reminiscent of what you would expect if Green Lantern turned into MMA wrestler. Hawkman is set to swoop in come November, with no set price revealed yet.
