Google Glass gets its first update since 2014
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 22 June 2017 | Categories: newsRemember Google Glass? The Augmented Reality (AR) tool was pretty much the only thing people could talk about a few years ago, but since disappeared from memory. Well, if you still own one, Google has released its first update for Glass since 2014.
The motivation for the update rollout is unclear, but it includes the ability to pair and support Bluetooth devices, such as a keyboard and mouse. With Google Glass thrown on a pile of other ambitious, but ultimately failed pieces of tech, who this update is aimed at is difficult to gauge.
Could Google be preparing to take another crack at AR glasses? There is certainly a place for it, with VR and AR applications being developed more fervently these days, not to mention Snapchat's recording Spectacles.
Either way, this update comes at an odd time.
