By Robin-Leigh Chetty 25 January 2018 | Categories: newsAs with last year, Google decided to reveal this year's dates for its annual I/O conference via an online puzzle. It did not take long for online publications to decipher it, with the dates for the three day long conference being 8-10 May.

The venue for the conference's keynote presentations will be the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, which is relatively close to the company's main campus. As for what the focus of Google I/O 2018 will be, as in previous years, their software developments will be the main draw.
While Google has not confirmed any definite news in that regard, during the online puzzle process, a pineapple cake was found, hinting at an upcoming operating system in Android P, as well as a potential name.
Other areas likely to be showcased will be virtual and augmented reality, with Google's daydream platform yet to reach full fruition. With some time to go until Google I/O 2018 kicks off, there will probably be plenty more hints coming out of Mountain View.
