Google launches Google Play Music Concierge in South Africa
By Staff Writer 8 June 2016 | Categories: newsGoogle today announced the launch of Google Play Music Concierge in 20 countries in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions, including South Africa. The service gives Play Music subscribers access to a large set of curated playlists targeted to specific contexts - what users are doing, how they're feeling, and so on.
According to Google, with Concierge it’s easier to find the right music for every mood with an updated Google Play Music app that gives users curated music stations based on what they're doing.
If you’re a current Google Play Music subscriber, the next time you open the app you’ll be prompted to play music selected for a time of day, mood or activity. Choose an activity to get options for several music stations. Each station has been curated by Google’s team of music experts, including DJs, musicians, music critics and ethnomusicologists.
Furthermore, users can download these music stations to listen when offline, with the added ability to see what song is up next, add, remove or re-order them. Or you can start a new station based on any song in the mix. You can also search for a particular station you want or activity you want to find music for.
The new activity-based station recommendations are available today for subscribers in South Africa on Android, iOS and the Web, with more than 35 million songs to choose from.
