SpaceX wants to relaunch one of its older rockets later this year
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 8 June 2016 | Categories: newsElon Musk and the good people at SpaceX have a few things planned for Q3, one of which is reusing one of their old Falcon 9 rockets for a launch. They currently have four reusable rockets sitting in their hangar, as confirmed in a Tweet from Musk yesterday.
The fourth of these rockets recently returned to the hangar, after completing the launch of the Thaicom 8 satellite a couple of weeks ago. Musk also detailed the company's plans to conduct the relaunch in September or October this year. SpaceX had originally planned to have a relaunch for one of its rockets in May, but timing issues simply did not make this feasible, according to Engadget.
The cargo for the relaunch has not been detailed, but it's believed that Luxembourg-based satellite company, SES is interested in the next launch window.
