HP has many a printer in its stable, and its latest offering is a bit of jack of all trades - the DeskJet GT 5820. Serving as an all-in-one offering, it also sports an ink tank to house roughly a year's worth of printing capacity, according to HP.  More precisely, it can deliver up to 8000 colour prints and 5000 black and white prints.

Added to this, HP claims that it has one of the lowest costs per print in its category thanks to the aforementioned ink tank. To that end, it's designed for users that may not be printing large batches each day, but rather have a desire to keep the number of ink refills each year to minimum.

The ink tank, located on the right hand side, also has a few nifty features including a anti-spill function when squeezing new ink into the colour-specific slots. Along with that is a locking mechanism that stops any ink from flowing through the system, and potentially leaking, when you choose to move the DeskJet GT 5820 around.

In terms of other features, there's the usual print, copy and scan functions, with HP also making a corded and wireless model available to consumers. The wireless variant uses HP's All-in-One mobile app to allow users to print from a handheld device.

In terms of pricing, corded model retails for around R2 999, with the wireless option costing between R3 499 and R3 999 depending on the retailer you head to.

Speaking of which, the DeskJet GT 5820 is currently available at Incredible Connection (R3 999), with the HP-branded Shop, Takealot and Matrix Warehouse set to receive stock soon too. Also on sale will be the individual ink bottles (Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow), each retailing for around R199.

If you've got a home office setup, are a family that does printing from time to time, or just want to save money in the long run, the DeskJet GT 5820 is worth a look.
