HTC expected to debut two new iterations of the U11 on 2 November
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 17 October 2017 | Categories: newsHTC's efforts in the mobile field are still alive and well, despite the Taiwanese manufacturer's devices all but absent locally. The company recently released the squeezable HTC U11, which apart from its slightly gimmicky Edge Sense feature (now available on the Google Pixel 2), was well received by most critics.
Now two new follow-up devices to the HTC U11 is reportedly in the offing, with a 2 November reveal on the cards. The company has sent out invites for the event, with Phandroid sharing the details it received for the Taiwan-based press conference.
While the complete picture is unknown for now, it is believed that HTC will add two new phones to the U lineup. One of them is said to be a mid-range device called the U11 Life, and the other is rumoured to be a flagship named the U11 Plus, which is designed to front up to some of the phones on the market like the Huawei Mate 10 and Galaxy Note 8.
It's unclear whether each device will sport the same Edge Sense feature as the U11, but given that they're part of the U series, it's more than likely. Also a mystery at the moment is whether these devices will make their way to markets within Africa, but one can always hope.
