HTC's focus of late has been on its Vive VR headset, leaving the mobile side of the business to flounder slightly. As such, we're getting less and less new devices from the Taiwanese company, and their local mobile presence is virtually non-existent. Nevertheless, they do have a new offering on the way, at least according to a since removed listing on their website for the U12 Plus.

The listing featured not only what the device will look like, as well as the colour options it would be available in, but also the specifications, pricing and initial release country.

To that end the U12 Plus looks much like its predecessor, with the only key difference being a dual camera setup on the rear, with the lenses housed horizontally. There's also a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, but curiously it has not opened the way for the U12 Plus to go the bezel-less all-screen route. Consequently, no top notch is present.

The display is 6.0" WQHD+ (2440x1440), with BoomSound audio support and IP68-rated waterproofness added. Taking care of the heavy lifting is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, with a microSD slot capable of expanding storage by up to 2 TB.

It's unclear on which date the U12 Plus will be launched, but the listing did mention China as one of the countries it would be available in for a recommended 5 888 yuan (R11 570).
