HTC's new 'squeezable' U phone is debuting on 16 May
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 20 April 2017 | Categories: newsHTC has always marched to the beat of their own drum when it comes to smartphone design, and the upcoming device could be another case in point. Dubbed the HTC U, the Taiwanese company will debut the smartphone in their native Taipei on 16 May.
An invite for the event has also been released, bearing the words, "Squeeze for the brilliant U." It's an odd choice of words, especially when describing a phone, but it may hint at a new feature that the HTC U will be touting - something called 'Edge Sense' which incorporates touch sensitive sensors in the frame of the HTC U.
Precisely how this will improve the functionality of the device remains to be seen, but we do know some some the specifications for the phone. It's display will measure roughly 5.5" (2560x1440), with a Snapdragon 835 CPU, 16 MP front facing camera (likely for better selfies) also being rumoured.
