Hadouken! Ken Masters gets new look, new moves for Street Fighter V
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 10 July 2015 | Categories: newsAnyone who's enjoyed Street Fighter, whether it be in the arcade or in the living room, will know two of its most iconic characters - Ryu and Ken. The latter, a blond haired, red gi (formal karate uniform) wearing martial artist, whose last name is Masters in case you didn't know, has been redesigned for Street Fighter V. Capcom confirmed the news during its San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) panel today, stating that Ken Masters has been changed to look and feel far more different from Ryu.
The first change sees Ken swap his usual red gi for a black shirt, with red accents and full length red pants. Ken has also styled his hair to resemble a samurai knot-esque look. Capcom also says that he will have a more aggressive fighting style, and if the accompanying trailer (featured below) is anything to go by, Ken's "in your face" moves certainly to the trick.
Two new moves in particular stand out, the one being a trigger move called heat rush, which sees him do a number of spinning heel kicks while glowing red. The other is quick step, which as the name suggests, allows him to quickly close down distances between opponents to launch attacks. Hadouken fans will not be disappointed by the changes though, as the signature move still remains.
Check out Ken Masters in all his new garb and moves in the video below.
