The Revenant

We wouldn't have needed a trailer for The Revenant, such is the awesomeness of the cast and director, but 20th Century Fox has released one for those that require a bit more convincing. The film sees Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu get behind the camera once again, following his amazing work on Birdman. The Revenant tells the true story of an 1820s American frontiersman named Hugh Glass, portrayed by a bearded and scruffy Leonardo DiCaprio. 

Glass is left for dead after a bear mauling and barely survives. He sets out on an epic journey of vengeance, with Tom Hardy's John Fitzgerald firmly in his sights. 

As evidenced by the trailer below, Iñárritu's unique filming style comes to the fore once again, as viewers feel immersed in the on-screen action. The North American wilderness too, jumps off the screen as being both harsh and unforgiving.  

Although superhero films steal much of the attention these days, The Revenant is one movie we can't wait to see.
