Fortnite Battle Royale's popularity shows no signs of slowing down, and to reward gamer's loyalty, a highly requested feature is coming in the form of jetpacks. The game's official Twitter account confirmed the item's arrival, noting that an update (v4.2) should be rolling out from 14:00 (SAST) onwards today.  

Strap in and blast off with Jetpacks in the v4.2 Content Update. 🚀

The introduction of jetpacks appears to be part of a timed mode in-game called Close Encounters, and according to Polygon may involve a combination of shotguns and jetpacks which should make for some interesting gameplay. Developer Epic Games has not confirmed if the rumours are true, but an announcement is likely forthcoming once the update reaches all Fortnite gamers.
