Joe Manganiello gets Deathstroke role for Ben Affleck directed Batman film
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 9 September 2016 | Categories: newsLast week Ben Affleck surprised DC fanboys with on-set footage from the upcoming Justice League movie. In it, Batfleck shows off one of the Dark Knight's fiercest adversaries - Deathstroke (aka Slade Wilson). Following the footage's release, it prompted several queries as to who would play the assassin for hire. Now it has been confirmed that Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike XXL) will be taking on the role, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The WSJ spoke to DC Entertainment's Geoff Johns, who is also helping Affleck pen the standalone Batman film, who also confirmed the casting. Johns did not, however, state whether Deathstroke will feature in 2017's Justice League film.
While Deathstroke's appearance in Justice League isn't a must, it is nice to see DC fill out the Rogue's Gallery, especially as Suicide Squad's Joker left much to be desired. Maybe Slade Wilson will prove a far better test for Batman.
