Kwesé Sports kicks off their first ever African Challenge Esport gaming tournament at rAge 2016
By Staff Writer 26 September 2016 | Categories: newsKwesé Sports in partnership with Xbox South Africa is launching their first African Challenge Esport (ACE) gaming tournament to be hosted in Johannesburg at the 2016 rAge Expo (Ticketpro Dome Northgate ) from 7-9 October followed by Cape Town at Canal Walk from 28-30 October. The tournament will allow for contestants to battle it out through qualifying rounds with four finalists selected from each city to participate in the final on 19 November in Johannesburg.
Coinciding with the launch of FIFA 17, it will be the game of choice for the tournament. Winners in the qualifying rounds will walk away with an impressive R10 000, runners up will receive R5 000, R3 000 and R2 000 respectively for second, third and fourth place in each city. The four semi-finalists from Cape Town will then be sponsored to travel to Johannesburg for a one day long final against the Johannesburg winners at the Microsoft offices.
For the finals in Johannesburg, prizes are set at R20 000 for first place, R10 000 for second place, R7 000 for third place and R3 000 for fourth place. There will be an additional bonus round with and extra R10 000 up for grabs.
To be part of this exhilarating tournament, contestants need to log on to Kwesé Sports' tournament homepage to register and select a city they would like to represent. This is a first of its kind for Kwesé Sports in South Africa and this initiative will soon be made available for gamers across the African continent.
