Luke Cage tangles with main villain Cornell Stokes in latest trailer
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 27 September 2016 | Categories: newsLuke Cage is Netflix's latest Marvel superhero-inspired TV series, set for debut at the end of this week (30 September). To drum up excitement for this member of The Defenders, Netflix has unveiled a final trailer showcasing the series' main villain Cornell Stokes.
Like the Netflix series that have preceded it, Luke Cage looks like a gritty take on life in Hell's Kitchen, as our reluctant hero (played by Mike Colter and seen in Jessica Jones) has to deal with gang violence and dirty politicians.
Embodying the former is Stokes (portrayed by Mahershala Ali from House of Cards), a mob boss that has a stake in nearly every dubious activity taking place in Hell's Kitchen. Cage decides to hit him where it hurts, taking out a number of his illegal operations, before the two will likely square off against one another.
With a strong track record to date, chances are Netflix's Luke Cage should also prove a hit. Click play on the video below and see our hero in action.
