It appears that LG is wasting no time in bringing its new V30 flagship device to market, with a report by Android Authority claiming the South Korean manufacturer wants to bring the smartphone to market in its native country by 15 September. That would a little over two weeks after it makes it debut pre-IFA 2017 on 31 August.

Releasing a device so quickly after an unveiling is nothing new, but perhaps LG's move is in a bid to steal a march on the Galaxy Note 8, which is being revealed by Samsung on 23 August. While the latter is yet to disclose when it plans to make the Note 8 available to the public, they likely have a similarly short timeframe in mind.

Much is expected from both devices, but for different reasons. The LG V30 will have to continue the strong showing of its predecessor (LG V20), and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 needs to bounce back from the fiasco of its forebearer.

With the second half of 2017 yet to see any noteworthy new phone released, perhaps the next couple of months will be defined by what the South Korean manufacturers do.
